A stingray named Charlotte at a North Carolina aquarium is anticipating children, and staff accepts it might have been impregnated by a shark as there were no male stingrays in her tank, Everyday Mail revealed.
In September, the Aquarium and Shark Lab by Group ECCO found Charlotte's enlarging, which they at first thought was malignant growth, however after ultrasounds, they found she was pregnant with various puppies.

"I connected with Dr. Loot Jones, the aquarium vet, and he recognized the developments as eggs," said Ramer. "We have no male beam. He said there have been not many instances of parthenogenesis in beams."
The other explanation, staff accept, may have been a male shark put in her tank in mid-July.
"In mid-July 2023, we moved two 1-year-old white spot bamboo guys (sharks) into that tank. There was nothing we could find authoritatively about their development rate, so we didn't figure there would be an issue," Ramer said.
"We began to see indentations on Charlotte, yet saw other fish nipping at her, so we moved fish, yet entirely the gnawing proceeded."
Indentations on blade edges show mating in sharks, another representative made sense of, adding that Charlotte had a few chomps on her balance edges.
Charlotte's puppies will go through DNA testing once they show up in the following couple of days to decide whether they are blended variety or clones of their mom.
The growth time frame for a stingray is regularly three to four months.
Stingrays are straightened fish, firmly connected with sharks, having a place with the Elasmobranchs bunch. They have no bones in their body and an adaptable ligament skeleton.
